James Martin, a TV chef, disclosed that he was previously diagnosed with face cancer. It comes following allegations that ITV received complaints regarding the presenter’s handling of production personnel and ordered him to alter his workplace behavior.

He referred to the end of 2017 as “one of the most fraught and difficult periods of my life” in a string of tweets. In addition, he stated that he wanted to “apologize to the crew involved in this incident, as I did at the time.”

James Martin’s Saturday Morning was being filmed at the time, and the singer got upset when a drain at his house, where the show was being taped, got blocked.

The 51-year-old and production company Blue Marlin, which accepted responsibility for the damage, said they “agree lessons have been learned” in a joint statement released earlier this week.

James Martin revealed in a new statement on Twitter that he was diagnosed with cancer around the time of the draining incident. He said the disease “has returned on several occasions” after his operation, necessitating “regular treatments.”

Along with his grandfather’s passing, he also coped with a house invasion. “After enduring a lot of stress, I became quite emotional. In early January 2018, I found out that my home had been flooded during the filming process, leaving me extremely upset.,” he wrote.

I can only describe myself as human and under strain from my personal life. He continued to acknowledge that I overreacted to the damage to my home.

This week, after a new complaint was filed with ITV alleging his attitude on another recent episode, reports of his harassment of production personnel came to light.

According to the US website Deadline, Martin was “accused of berating people” and “reducing them to tears in front of other colleagues” while filming the Spanish Adventure episode in May. ITV’s “highest priority” is “people and their welfare,” according to a spokeswoman.

We had a complaint about James Martin’s Spanish Adventure filming from the Blue Marlin production team in May, so we contacted them to discuss it, find out how the issues identified were being addressed, and find out what steps were made.

The statement stated, “As a result, we offered some recommendations for Blue Marlin to execute as quickly as possible, providing best practices for some of our pertinent processes around personnel wellbeing and reinforcing our Supplier Code of Conduct. Source
